Team Anthem & Cheer
On Thursday November 29th I went to a playoff game between my team "PUMAS-UNAM" againts the league leader "Santos". This phase are the playoffs and there are no points involved just 2 games one as local and one as visitor, and the one who scores the most goals in the two matches win. Our team is said to have the best supporters, well listen to the cheering and singging and judge by yourself!
By now my team is in the final and the first game will take place in Mexico City on Thursday and the closing game will take place in Cancun... the final is against "Atlante" and I will keep you posted on the result!

Greece
Wow it has been a while and I am getting really rusty now...
I went for some needed vacations to Athens... no doubt the change from a small "fish-smelling" town into a big chaotic city might not seem to be the description of vacation for many, but for me the big cities are heaven!
So arriving to Athens, the first surprise came up... we arrived at around midnight and two very good friends picked us up... for starters, the airport was filled with people. We went directly to Athens just to find the roads filled with people and the whole place filled with light and life.
It was total ecstasy to be able to get a dinner and drinks after 1am sitting on a table outside a bar filled with people that don't stare at you like a total stranger.
The next day we went to the must-see tourist temple... The Acropolis which no doubt is impressive, but even more is to stand at the edge of it and be able to stare down to Athens, and see how the city stretches massively housing half of the total Greek population!
Amongst evened out buildings homogeneous in shapes and colours, the Acropolis emerges stating centuries of cultural splendor... and to its feet the Agora showing the foundation of the culture...
Well enough chit chat... I believe is better to take a look at the pictures and get the idea by yourself:

Unnecessary Roughness
Once again... my most sincere apologies for my only 3 readers...
After close to two weeks of not posting up anything; here is the explanation of my absence. As some of you might or might not be aware of, I am currently doing my master thesis in some crazy and fancy control strategy. Well the thing is a little more complex than this with the master programme I am "enrolled" in. It is an agreement between different universities throughout Europe (mainly Scandinavia), but I've come to find out that they have the same (or even more) monetary interest as everyone... the worst part, they try to get it at any cost.
I say this because a few months back I started my last semester (4/4) in the programme, according to the rules you can choose where you wish to study your last semester and the thesis project you wish to develop. Since previously you have been in three universities (Halmstad, Lemgo and Esbjerg) you can choose amongst these three. Me and my current colegue in the thesis chose Esbjerg in Denmark and started the 4th and hopefuly the last semester in February.
By the end of April we recieved a letter stating that we had to pay (50,000Dkk = 8,991.65 USD) for current semester... that seemed odd since we were already half way through it... but the dateline for the payment was untill the 1st of July 2007... So we assumed it was a mistake or some kind of mass email in which we were added erroneously; even though we corroborated with our departments secretary and she said it was most probably a mistake. So we kept on with our project, and in the end of May I was informed that I was no longer enrolled in the University and that I had to pay before January 1st 2007!
Obviously I got scared and astonished! So I replied back explaining that there surely was a miss understanding since I was a member of the IT-Master programme and not an Esbjerg student. But their only reply was... Sorry but you should have payed and we have informed the migration office that you are no longer a student here (I am not Danish to make that point clear), and the dateline was December 1st 2006. So this made clear to me that they have no clue of who and when has to pay.
To make the long story short... I am currently unable to graduate from Aalborg University Esbjerg as I wished. The initial agreement was violated, they waited untill we were half way in the semester to let us know that we had to pay in July... but then one month later changed their mind and decided that we had to pay in January and kicked me out of the University without previous announcement. The work for a whole semester is now done for up to now nothing...
It is sad to face this kind of indirect discrimination (indirect discrimination) and even harder to realize that an agreement is not respected, even though they offeres freedom of choice to graduate on the last semester... as long as you have enough money to pay for it.
So please let me know if anyone has a good suggestion as what to do about this situation, because up to now... no answer, solution or option has been given to us on this matter.
Definition: Indirect discrimination involves setting a condition or requirement which a smaller proportion of those with the protected attribute are able to comply with, without reasonable justification.

Pancakes
Ok... I am not a cook and I know it. But there is no denying that, like Andi would say, "learning by doing" leads to good results. It has now been a few weekends now that I cook for my friend here in Esbjerg. It has been really good moments of fun and friendly interaction. The common denominator...
That is right! Banana Pancakes!
This post is only to thank all of my friends that join me in the morning and like to enjoy a stack of pancakes covered with Jam! I am more than happy to prepare for you and trust me... one day, I will post the recipe! hehehehehe until then, fell free to join in, have some breakfast, all you need to bring is a smile! You are completely welcome (even in pyjama!)
So here is to you buddies!
THANKS!

Digital Ethnography
I came across this video the other day...
It really got the hamster inside my head running like hell. So I decided to try and do something like that. The only conclusion I could reach at the beginning was... I fucking miss my MAC! (It is so hard to edit with Windows... I can't believe it).
Then I thought about it once again and it is impressive that now we can really see the response of people towards a subject. It would be really interesting to see their faces and their reactions towards the videos people (me not yet... but I keep trying) post.
No doubt the web has changed... now we don't only look for simple words, but to motion and reactions... we search for ways to pinch us and see others to unite us in the "comfort" of our home... even our room. No doubt this causes a debate since we can see and interact with someone else but there is no physical presence... still the communication is open and in such a way that people from all over the globe can reach it...

Farewell Spain!
The time of the year where people start going back home is drawing near... This time it was not easy at all, our spanish girls left a little earlier than expected but this didn't mean there would be no celebration! So we orginized a "goodbye comitee" and took a trip to København!
As you can see in the Picture the bag was at least half of Maria! But the trick was putting the heavy stuff in the small bag on top, this way the one who helped would be the one carrying the most ;) hehehehe
In order to get ready for the trip we needed energy, so the girls organized a farewell dinner & meeting at Jensens Bøfhus, for an all you can eat spare ribs feast!!! (Warning, the images shown below can be a little explicit!)
Lunch time!

The other table! (16 People)

Ale ordered a steak... notice those are ribs on the plate... mmmmmm (the steak had already dissapeared)

Come on Tomas! Share with me! I'm Hungry!
FerXo goes Viking Style!

Do not worry Ale, we can wait! ;)

No doubt we all had a great time!
Thanks girls! We miss you!

Sunny Lunch
Carrying the table out we found Anne Marie taking the sun, so of course she was invited to join. When we were almost through with lunch, the Austrian girls and Stefan arrived... they brought waffles!
So what seemed just like a little lunch outside became a big reunion with laughs, chats, hand crafts and love...
Just note how Ferxo and Kiwi's relation improves as now they love each other instead of fighting. Flower power at its best!

Last trip days... (the final part)
And thus... finaly the last part from the Esbjerg-Berlin tour is here. To be sincere not much is left to be said...Early in the morning Maria, FerXo and me woke up and decided to go shopping... the bad news is that it was easter Friday and all the shops were closed. So we just went to the meeting point to catch Ale and Ismael. We took a really nice breakfast in an Italian restaurant that FerXo spotted on the way to the hostel.
Once breakfast was enjoyed and around midday we enrolled on the quest back to Esbjerg, but decided to take one last stop in Germany... to be specific, in Hamburg! I just love this city! So we stoped to have lunch and take an express sight seeing tour since everything was closed. We had our last Bratwurst in the piers, hopped on the car and drove back to Esbjerg.
Just like that, the really nice express trip ended, and only the good memories remain portrayed in pictures... The complete set of images can be found in my flickr collection -> HERE!

Berlin by Museums (Part 3)
So the second day arrived...
We all woke up at a good time and decided to enroll into a museum visit!
We started by visiting the Altes Museum (Old Museum) which had Nefertiti's Statue in it and a big exposition regarding Egiptian and Greek sculptures. Amongs the most interesting things is the green head and some other egiptian tomb statues.
Afterwards we went to the Pergamon Museum... This is the second time I visit this museum and it really is impressive. It has a reconstruction of some temples of the Pergamon kingdom which was located on what nowadays is Turkey. Definatly this one museum is my favorit history museum...
Afterwards, the sight seeing tour started... a walk down the Unter den Linden road took us all the way to the Brandemburg Gate. And then the walk continued but it is better described by the pictures here ----> I will try to update the picture set in order to put all of the pictures there... on the mean time, enjoy some of them!
By night we took it slow since we wanted to get to see the rest of the city on Friday. The solution, a small walk through Alexander Platz and a little Kebab dinner. We were fit to continue the tour the next day.

Road to Berlin (part 2)
Finally I'm able to write a little more after the exam I had to present. I am sorry if it has been a while, but I wonder if even one person ever stops to read this blog.
Well last post ended with us arriving to Berlin, the first impersion of the city was besides the complete look of a city, buildings, avenues, cars and noise; the "windshield cleaner" in a stop light. Once again I felt what living in a respectable city feels like.
We finally arrived to the hostel City Stay (highly recomended by me), after registering and payin we came to the surprise mentioned in Road to Berlin (part 1); it was the hostel's aniversary so we were invited to join the celebrations with all the free beer we wanted! (Keep in mind the date 4th of April). So we put our stuff in our 8 bed dorm, where we found another Spanish girl and a Mexican woman... yes 8 out of 8 Spanish speakers! We invited them for a beer (free beer) and found out the food was also free so we stayed for a while and later went clubbing... we should have stayed since there were much more people in the hostel's
party. Even though it was really nice to move around the city by night and go to a part I haven't been to, the "World clock" in Alexander Platz. So we partied untill not that late since we had a long 2nd day in Berlin!!!

Road to Berlin
On the 4th of April the chicas, FerXo, Ismael and me decided to make a trip down to Berlin... One of the niciest trips I've done. There is so much to tell about that I will split the blog in several parts
I needed this trip like hell! My humour was getting really grumpy while staying in Esbjerg, and I eventhought I was becoming a mean and undesireable person... turns out it is nothing like that, it is just the price of living in such a small town!
Moving on to happier things, Ale rented a nice Peugeot 307 and we all hopped in really early that Wednesday. This was the beginning to one of the best trips I've had. I have so many stories to tell. I was the first to drive un till Flensburg, from there, the next stop was the beautiful Hamburg.
We arrived close to midday into "HH" city. We were readdy to kill for a Bratwurst and a Beer, so we inmediately parked close to the center, went to the Rathaus and walked up the shopping street (shouldn't have done that with the Chicas there... it took us a while to find some place to get a Bratwurst). Finally we ended up in Mö-Bratwurst having a nice curry susage and a coke. We walked a little throught the city and came to the "Park on Drugs" where we took some simple but nice pictures.
After that and the respective toilet break we hopped on the car to try to find our way to Berlin... only detail... no map, no GPS and no clue how to get there. Along with Maria we went to buy a map and to get directions on how to get there; turns out my German is not that bad! hehehehe and we asked a bus driver how to get there, once understood (30 minutos later) we took the car again and with Fercho at the wheel the journy took us to Berlin, where a nice surprise was awaiting us!!!

Wir fahren nach Berlin
Back to the city! After around one year without appearing around Berlin, now all of the sudden I'm happily joining the chicas tomorrow to visit the city. Last time I was there the weather was freezing and half of the called uppon team was nice to travel with, the other half... well anyway.
This time the weather seems friendlier, and up to ten degrees Celsius are expected for the days we will be there, maybe a little rain but nothing serious. By now I am really looking forward to appear again in such a nice city, and be able to take pictures in one of my favourite cities!

The Monster...
I think we all remember the times when we were really young and there was something or someone who made us afraid. Well this is perfect example of what it is like to have no more fear! Enjoy!

Man meets the Sea

Enough said, we took the bikes and rode all the way from home to the sunny "strand". FerXo and me went grocerie shopping, we took baguette and sousages to put inside, a little wine and I took the iPod to play some nice music while we had one of the best lunches in a really long time!
You can check out the whole set of pictures HERE!

Paella!
All of Alejandra´s family was here, even her sister in law came to visit. If any of you see this Blog, a very warm greeting from my part.
The Fight!
It seemed to be another peaceful day in Hedelundvej, some cookie baking was taking place. But things weren´t really like that! Something unsetled FerXo and the show-down vs Kiwi started...

And after three punches thrown each... they got tired and no real harm was done... mmm maybe next time they will give me a little more material to blogg about...
